The Fund had a great day on October 6th with its special Waterloo Sunset train - even the weather was kind. Taw Valley carried the Waterloo Sunset headboard put together in memory of 82045 publicity officer Paul Anderson. The train also marked the launch of the 82045 Future Fund - hopefully to ensure that 82045 has a long and successful life in the future. Image added

August 3rd 2017, updated August 6th
The Trust is delighted to confirm that the 'special' train Waterloo Sunset will run on October 6th 2017 (when no SVR public trains run). There are plenty of tickets available so if you fancy a trip behind Taw Valley with lunch and entertainment, tickets are £30. You don't have to be a member of the Trust.
Times are not set in stone yet but we plan to depart Bridgnorth at 11am. Approx. three hours at Kidderminster and back at Bridgnorth at 4pm (ish). The day includes lunch and a film show in the museum. In addition to being in memory of our assistant publicity officer we hope to raise funds to kick start 82045s Future Fund.
Please note that the footplate rides are both sold now.
To book please send an sae and cheque made out to 'The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust' to Barbara Massau, Highlea, 4 Southfield, Willowmead Park, Prestbury, Cheshire, SK10 4XF.

July 17th 2017 - 'Waterloo Sunset' special train, October 6th
We are still hoping to run our special train in honour of our assistant publicity officer Paul Anderson on Friday 6th October - Bridgnorth-Kidderminster and return behind Taw Valley, with a relaxed three-hour stopover at Kidderminster (we plan to make this a very pleasant experience for passengers) - but need to sell eighty tickets in order to make the exercise feasible. Sales have been slow, plenty of people saying that they intend to come along but not much in the way of ticket revenue forthcoming. We have therefore set a shut-off date of August 1st, after which we will decide whether or not to proceed with the train.
Please get in touch with Barbara http://www.82045.org.uk/82045_contact.html if you wish to travel on the train: cost is £30-00 inclusive of lunch and other entertainments at Kidderminster, and cheques should be made out to The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust. One of the full-length footplate rides over the sixteen miles-plus of the Severn Valley Railway has been sold, but the return leg is still available at a cost of £250-00.

Update: A comment on National Preservation says: "We are still aiming to get wheeled this winter, the hornguides and axleboxes have taken a long time to get ready. All being well we are hoping to get the job done during the `closed` season on the SVR."
